Program Summary

The principals of spirometry and its application in the diagnosis and effective management of asthma will be reviewed utilizing case based scenarios and a review of the current NAEPP guidelines (Expert Panel Report – 3) for asthma.

  1. The program participant will be able to discuss current epidemiology of asthma in the United States.
  2. The program participant will be able to review the current evidence based guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma.
  3. The program participant will be able to discuss the effective use of spirometry in the diagnosis and management of asthma.
  4. The participant will be to apply the above skill sets in simulated clinical scenarios.
