CE for Specialty: Athletic Training 30 hours of BOC approved courses of study are required each biennium period to the renewal deadline of June 30th of every even-numbered year. Continuing education does not apply to the biennium when the license was first issued. The licensure period extends from July 1st of even-numbered years to June 30th of the next even-numbered year.
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 20 Contact Hours must be completed each 2 year renewal period. 10 CE hours per year (for hearing aid fitters only)
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition There is no continuing education requirement.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services All individual EMT and First Responder, ambulance service provider and medical first responder provider licenses expire on June 30th of even numbered years. CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy There are no Continuing Education requirements. Licenses must be renewed by February 28th every two years in each odd year. (e.g.; 2013.) CPR required for renewal.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 30 Hours of Category I, AMA or AOA for Physicians. There are no Continuing Education requirements for Physician Assistants. Licenses must be renewed every two years. MD Physicians: renewal date remains 10/31/odd and your CE deadline date remains 12/31/odd. DO Physicians: renewal and CE deadline dates will both be 2/29/even.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: Occupational Therapists (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistance (OTA) must complete 24 points of acceptable continuing education in a 2 year period, at least 12 of the points shall be accumulated through professional development activities related to occupational therapy. Must be completed by May 31st of every odd-numbered year.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 30 hours of continuing education must be completed by May 31 of even numbered years. This requirement is effective with the 2nd renewal of a pharmacy license after original issuance and each renewal thereafter. Home study must be approved by ACPE. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician No continuing education is required.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE requirements: PT and PTA licenses expire on February 28th of odd years. 30 contact hours required biennially for PTs; 20 for PTAs. Four hours must be in ethics and jurisprudence.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 40 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. All licensees must complete a minimum of 6 hours in ethics. Licenses must be renewed biennially. The deadline for renewal is September 30th of odd numbered years (i.e.; 2013; 2015 etc.)
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology No CE required. Technologists are not licensed but have ARRT certification requirements for persons equating CT, radiation therapy equipment.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy There is no continuing education requirement.
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: thirty (30) hours of social work continuing education must be completed by February 28 of odd years. Four (4) hours of ethics and boundaries required. Home study permitted, however Ethics requirements cannot come from homestudy.
