Missouri State-Mandated CME Content/Additional Notes The CME license renewal requirement can be met by a) completing 50 hours AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, AOA Category 1-A or 2-A credits, or American Academy of Family Physicians prescribed credits; b) completing 40 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ or AOA Category 1-A credit if each course, seminar, or activity includes a post-test of the material covered in the 40 CME credits; c) specialty board certification or recertification; or d) participating in an ACGME- or AOA approved internship or residency program during the reporting period if at least 60 days of the reporting period were spent in the internship or residency.

CE for Specialty: Athletic Training N/A
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 24 Contact Hours must be completed each 2 year renewal period. The continuing education reporting period shall consist of a 2 year period. It shall begin on January 1st of even numbered years and end on December 31st of the following year.
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition There is no continuing education requirement.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services Missouri has a 5-year re certification period. CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics EMT-B: 100 hours                                                            Paramedic: 144 hours
CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 12 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. 12 hours of CE “relevant to the practice of massage therapy” are required. There are no other restrictions.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 50 hours of CME must be completed every two years. The board shall not issue a renewal of a licensee’s certificate of registration unless the licensee demonstrates completion of fifty hours of continuing medical education accredited by the AOA as Category 1-A or 2-a, by the AMA as Category I or by the American Academy of Family Practice Prescribed Credit, in the two immediately preceding reporting periods. Licenses must be renewed every two years. The period for completion of the continuing medical education requirements shall be the 24-month period beginning January 1 of each even-numbered year and ending December 31 of each odd-numbered year.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy The 2015 Occupational Therapists/ Occupational Therapy Assistant License renewal postcards have been mailed. This postcard will contain all the information to renew the license online. The OT/OTA Licensee must have 24 hours of continuing education to renew the license 1 CCC = 1 hour. These must have been obtained from 7/1/2013-06/30/2015 and may all be taken online. The continuing education is only to be submitted to the office upon request.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 30 hours of continuing education are required. The renewal cycle begins on September 1 and ends on a biennial cycle on August 31. Home study must be approved by the board. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician No continuing education is required.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy Missouri PTs and PTAs must renew biennially, on even-numbered years.  Licenses expire 1/31/2014. CE: 30 contact hours required biennially for PTs and PTAs. If a PT or PTA graduated in 2012, they must complete 15 hours of CE by 12/31/2013 in order to renew their license.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 40 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. Licenses must be renewed biennially. The licensure period extends from December 1st through November 30th.
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology Does not license personnel.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 24 hours of continuing education are due starting August 1st of each even year and ending on July 31st of the following even year. At least 12 hours credit shall be from approved, traditional programs (programs, attended either in person or attended remotely, by the use of telecommunication technology, where the presentation is “live,” and where the attendee can interact with and ask questions of the presenter during the presentation).
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: thirty (30) social work clock hours must be completed every two (2) years from date of issue. Three (3) clock hours of ethics required. Fifteen (15) hours of home study permitted.
