CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP | Speech-Language Pathologists Certificate Renewal CE: 10 professional development activities (PDA) per year of each renewal period. Continuing professional competency requirements are effective on December 1, 2014. Requirements must be met before a certificate can be renewed in 2016. For each renewal period, the CPD Program consists of the following elements: A Reflective Self-Assessment Tool (RSAT) and establishment of learning goals; Execution of a Learning Plan; Accrual of 10 Professional Development Activities (PDA), AND Documentation and retention of Professional Development Activities (PDA). PDA are organized into six (6) categories: • Volunteer Service • Mentoring/Supervision • Presentations • Coursework (includes online courses and webinars) • Independent Learning • Group Study A certificate holder must accrue the required 10 PDA through a minimum of 2 categories (no more than 5 PDA will be credited in any one category), OR all 10 PDA can be earned through the Coursework category. |

CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services | Colorado has a three year licensure period. CE Requirements for EMTs EMT: 36 hours EMT-Intermediate: 25 hours Advanced EMT: 36 hours 1 hour preparatory content that may include scene safety, quality improvement, health and safety of EMS providers, or medical legal concepts. 6 hours trauma patient assessment and treatment. 5 hours patient assessment. 3 hours airway assessment and management. 6 hours medical/behavioral emergency patient assessment and management. 11 hours elective content that is relevant to the practice of emergency medicine. CE Requirements for Paramedics: Paramedic: 25 hours 8 hours airway, breathing, and cardiology assessment and treatment. 4 hours medical patient assessment and treatment. 3 hours trauma patient assessment and treatment. 4 hours obstetric patient assessment and treatment. 4 hours pediatric patient assessment and treatment. 2 hours operational tasks and no less than 25 hours of elective content that is relevant to the practice of emergency medicine. |

CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy | CE Requirements: Continuing competency requirements are effective on February 1, 2015. For each renewal cycle (e.g., February 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016), OTs and OTAs must participate in the Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD). For each renewal period, the CPD Program consists of the following elements: Completion of a Reflective Self-Assessment Tool (RSAT) and establishment of learning goals; Execution of a Learning Plan; Accrual of 24 hours of Professional Development Activities (PDA), no more than 12 hours will be credited in one category of PDA; AND Documentation and retention of Professional Development Activities (PDA). CE for Specialty: Pharmacy | 24 hours of pharmacy continuing education must be completed every 2 years. Home study must be approved by the board. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”. Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements. |

CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy | CE Requirements: Senate Bill 11-69 was passed into law in the 2011 legislative session and required a Colorado licensed physical therapist to demonstrate his/her continuing competency (CC) in order to renew, reinstate or reactivate a license. Physical Therapist Assistants are not required to participate. Physical Therapist Assistants will begin participating on November 1, 2014 after renewing a license. CC requirements must be met prior to renewing a license in 2016. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the State Physical Therapy Board program through which a licensee can satisfy the continuing professional competency requirements in order to renew, reinstate, or reactivate a license. For each renewal period, the CPC program consists of the following elements: A reflective Self-Assessment Tool (RSAT) and establishment of learning goals: Development of a Learning Plan; Accrual of 30 points through Professional Development Activities (PDA). PDA are learning activities undertaken to increase a licensee’s knowledge and skill or hone existing knowledge and skill for the purpose of continuing professional development. PDA are organized into Category I, II, and III activities with corresponding point values (refer to the Learning plan and the Professional Development Activities (PDA List). At least 15 points must be accrued from Category I activities; and Once every 10 years, complete an Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (AKS), no more than two AKS will be credited in a 10 year period. |

CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy | There is no continuing education requirement for renewal. For reinstatement 30 hours are required related to the practice of respiratory therapy during the two years immediately preceding the application for reinstatement. |
CE for Specialty: Social Work | Renewal: Licensed social workers and licensed clinical social workers shall complete forty (40) PDH each renewal cycle in order to renew their license or certification. No more than twenty (20) PDH in a single Professional Development Activity shall be credited and recognized each renewal cycle. Next renewal cycle ends August 31, 2015. Continuing Professional Development: License types with CPD renewal requirements are: CACII, CACIII, LAC, MFT, LPC, LSW, CSW. There are three methods to satisfy the CPD requirement: 1. Active Military Service Exemption 2. Deem Status 3. CPD Program entailing the completion of: a) Reflective Practice, b) Learning Plan, and c) 40 Professional Development Hours (PDH).
