CE for Specialty: Athletic Training No continuing education is required but licenses must be renewed biennially. Licenses are effective from July 1st to June 30th of the following year.
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: At least 10 Contact Hours must be completed per annual renewal period. Dual licenses must complete at least 15 Contact Hours with a minimum of five (5) hours in each discipline from Content Area I. The one year renewal period spans from July 1st to June 30th of the following year.
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition 12 hours of CE required annually; December 1st through November 30th.  CE must be approved by CDR.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services Arkansas has a two year certification period. CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics: EMT Basic and Ambulance: 48 hours                             EMT-Intermediate: 36 hours                                      EMT-Paramedic: 48 hours                              EMT-Instructor: 8 hours
CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 18 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Continuing education must not be completed too far in advance, hours will not be carried over from previous years.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 20 Contact Hours must be completed annually. CME hours must be completed from birth month of previous year through birth month of current year. CME hours do not have to be of a particular category. Licenses must be renewed every year. (Expiring Licenses for This Month)
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: Occupational Therapists (OT) are required to complete 10 CEU’s every year. Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) are required to complete 10 CEU’s every year.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 30 hours of pharmacy continuing education must be completed by December 31 biennial. A minimum of 12 continuing education hours of the thirty 30 required hours, must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Home study is permitted. 12 live hours required. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician No continuing education is required.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE Requirements: CEUs should be acquired between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016 to be credited for 2017 renewal. Individuals licensed as new graduates or by endorsement in 2015 and 2016 are not required to complete CEUs for 2017 renewal and begin accumulating in 2017 for 2019 renewal. Individuals who were previously inactive and reinstate their license in 2015 and 2016 are required to complete continuing education between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016 for 2017 renewal. Continuing education used to reinstate a license cannot be used for 2017 renewal. According to the Arkansas Physical Therapy Practice Act, physical therapists must complete, in each biennium (two-year period), two (2) CEUs and physical therapist assistants are required to complete, in each biennium, one (1) CEU. This must be obtained within the 24-months preceding the odd-numbered year renewal. A passing score on the jurisprudence exam is part of continuing education and required in the same period as continuing education. No more than 50% of continuing education can be taken through online/home study courses. The jurisprudence exam is worth 1 hour of continuing education credit and counts as an online course.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 20 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. Licenses must be renewed annually. The deadline for license renewal is June 30th of every year.
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology CE per license type: Radiologic Technology – 6 hours                                                                                     Radiography – 6 hours Limited – 6 hours Nuclear Medicine – 6 hours Radiation Therapy – 6 hours Mammography – 6 hours Three hours must be in the Radiologic Sciences, in the core areas of all licenses such as radiation protection, equipment operation and maintenance, image production and evaluation, patient care and management and radiopharmaceuticals. The other three hours may be in other areas related to health care. Renewal is annual.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 12 hours of continuing education unit hours must be from birth month of previous year through birth month of current year.
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: forty-eight (48) hours of social work continuing education must be completed every two (2) years from date of issue. Twenty (20) hours every two (2) years can be from home study. Of the 48 hours, a minimum of three hours must be in professional ethics.
