CE for Specialty: Athletic Training 15 hours of continuing education must be completed biennially.
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 10 Contact hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Licenses expire a year to date from the original date of issue; date specific to each individual. Also accepted are courses involving: TBI, autism and other illnesses or traumas that may affect speech, therapy and learning about technology relevant to speech and audiology. – Discussed with rep from AZAHS.
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition There are no continuing education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services Renewal is required every 2 years based on the expiration date on the applicant’s certification. CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics: 60 hours required every 2 years based on the expiration date of the applicants certification. Including: 7 clock hours through proficiency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and proficiency in advanced emergency cardiac life support or current NREMT registration as an EMT-Intermediate (99) or EMT-Paramedic, as applicable.
CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 25 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Licenses expire on the licensee’s birthday.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 40 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Physician assistants are required to complete 20 credit hours of CME per calendar year Licenses must be renewed every two years.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: Occupational Therapists (OT) are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 30 hours pharmacy continuing education must be completed by November 1 of even or odd numbered years depending on the year you were licensed. 3 hours of Pharmacy Law continuing education required. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements. Home study permitted if approved by the ACPE.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician 20 hours of continuing education must be completed. 2 hours of Pharmacy Law continuing education is required. Licenses must be renewed biennially by November 1 of even or odd numbered years depending on the year you were licensed. Home study permitted if approved by the ACPE.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE Requirements: The rules that describe continuing competence activities (Article 4 in the board’s administrative rules, A.A.C. R4-24-401–R4-24-303) establish 3 categories of activities that can fulfill the requirement for license renewal, which is 20 hours during each 2 year compliance period. A compliance period begins on September 1st of even-numbered years and ends on August 31st of the following even-numbered year. At least 10 contact hours must be from Category A, up to the entire 20 contact hour requirement. No more than 10 hours may be utilized from a combination of Category B and/or Category C activities. Because of the variety of conversions used to determine CEU’s by different organizations, the rules require “contact hours” rather than “CEUs” as the measurement of continuing competence activities.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 60 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. At least 40 hours must be Category 1 courses and at least 20 hours must be Category 2 courses. All licensees are required to complete 4 hours in ethics and 4 hours in domestic violence or child abuse. Licenses must be renewed every 2 years by Apil 30th of each odd- numbered year. (i.e.: 2013; 2015 etc.)
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology CE per license type: Radiography – Mandatory 24 hours in two-year period. Limited – Not Mandatory Proof of current certification with ARRT or NMTCB fulfills CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 20 hours of continuing education are due every two years.   A respiratory care practitioner’s first license expires on the licensee’s second birthday following issuance of the license. Thereafter, a respiratory care practitioner’s license expires every other year on the licensee’s birthday.   At least 2/3 of the continuing education hours relate to clinical practice.
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: thirty (30) contact hours every two (2) years from date of issue. Three (3) hours in Behavioral Health Ethics or Mental Health Law and 3 hours in Cultural Competency and Diversity must be completed during the two years before the license renewal date. All contact hours can be home study.
