Program Summary

This 25-minute course is an overview of MRI Safety for LEVEL 2 personnel. This course is intended to meet the annual safety education that imaging center personnel are required to participate annually. This course will over the differences between Level 1 and Level 2 personal, MR Safety Zones, information about the MRI Scanner and basic information about the Magnetic Fields. It will also provide information about MRI Contract Agent Safety and Emergency Procedures.


Objectives
  • Understand the basics of magnetic fields and their influence on objects near them
  • Understand the importance of safety when working in the MR environment
  • Understand and comply with the rules of access restriction in MR area to ensure safety
  • Identify precautions that should be taken to avoid accidents near the MRI scanner
