Food Allergy or Food Intolerance?

Patients often have difficulty understanding differences between food alleriges and intolerances. Patients often come to allergists with questions about food allergies in relation to vague symptoms or with results from non-validated ‘food allergy’ tests, hoping that allergists will help them idenfity a diet to aid their symptoms. Clinicians need to be able to interpret these non validated tests and to educate patients on food alleriges vs inolerances.
