Dr. Brita Mittal, MD, FASA
Join Dr. Brita Mittal for a foundational, practice-focused exploration of High Flow Nasal Oxygen (HFNO) in anesthesia. This session explains the core mechanisms of HFNO—including flow dynamics, oxygen delivery, dead-space washout, mild positive airway pressure, and heated humidification—and connects these principles to intraoperative and perioperative decision-making.
Designed for anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and perioperative teams, the course emphasizes patient selection, safety considerations, and practical workflows. Participants will examine how HFNO can support monitored anesthesia care with spontaneous ventilation, enhance apneic oxygenation during airway management, and facilitate extubation and recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit.
