This course will provide the participant with details from radiation accidents, including near misses and sentinel events which resulted in patient death. We will explore the connection between workplace culture and patient and radiation therapist safety. Do you wonder about the effects of stress, busyness, or ineffective training on professional safety or the potential for patient errors? Reflecting on research which considered root causes analyses of accidents, radiation misadministration, stress, burnout, and department dynamics in radiation therapy, along with other modalities, and current discussions surrounding safety, this presentation will look at difficult topics and work through challenging situations
