CE for Specialty: Athletic Training 50 hours of approved continuing education credits must be completed during the 2 year period preceding the expiration of the license for athletic training as well as proof of maintenance of certification with the BOC.
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 20 Contact Hours must be completed each two year renewal period. 50 Hours must be completed for dual licensees. Licenses must be renewed in years ending in an even number. (e.g., 2012). Renewal period for SPL: January- December; Renewal period for Aud.: June- May. Continuing education credits may not be carried over from one renewal cycle to another
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition 30 hours of continuing education due every two years.   Must be approved by the board; relating to the practice of dietetics that foster improvement, advancement, and extension of the licensee’s professional skill and knowledge relating to the practice of dietetics.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services Maryland has a two year licensure period. CE Requirements for EMTs and Paramedics First Responder: 6 hours                                                 EMT-Basic: 12 hours                                             CRT (Cardiac Rescue Tech.): If licensed after 7/1/01-The continuing education requirements required for reregistration as an EMT-I/99 with the National Registry of  Emergency Medical Technicians.  If licensed before 7/1/01- 40 hours                                   EMT-Paramedic: No CE requirement
CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 24 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Licenses expire at the end of the calendar year of even numbered years. (e.g.; December 31st, 2012.) Minimum of 3 hours in professional ethics, 3 hours in communicable diseases, including HIV/AIDS, and minimum of 18 hours in massage related courses required.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 50 Contact Hours of Category I CME credits must be completed every two years. Licenses must be renewed every two years.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: The next renewal period will begin in May 2015.  Instructions will be mailed during the month of April.   In order to be eligible for licensure renewal, you must have earned 12 contact hours between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year.  The 12 contact hours shall consist of a minimum of 8 contact hours related to occupational therapy principles and procedures and a maximum of 4 contact hours through occupational therapy role-related activities, as defined in COMAR 10.46.04.02. Those individuals who were originally licensed after July 1st do not need any hours for the first renewal period.   In lieu of the 12 contact hours, the board also recognizes the maintenance of current NBCOT certification as fulfilling the requirements of continuing competency.  
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 30 hours of continuing education are required along with 1 hour on preventing medical errors.  Licensees may acquire 2 hours for attending a Board meeting in its entirety (not to exceed 4 CE credits per renewal period). 2 live hours are required.\ A license expires on the date set by the Board unless it is renewed for an additional term.  A license may not be renewed for a term longer than 2 years. Home study must be approved by the board. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician 10 hours of continuing education is required biennially for initial license renewal. 20 hours of continuing education is required for every other renewal thereafter. A license expires on the date set by the board unless it is renewed for an additional term. A license may not be renewed for a term longer than 2 years. Home study must be approved by the board.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE Requirements: Licensee must have earned the 3.0 CEUs for a PT, or 2.0 CEUs for a PTA. 1CEU = 10 CE hours (0.1 CEU = 1 CEU hour) CEUs will not be required if your license was issued one year or less before the renewal period. Licenses are renewed biennially on an odd-even basis via on-line system. License numbers ending with an odd-number renew in odd-numbered years. License numbers ending with an even number renew in even-numbered years. Failure to renew your license prior to its expiration date will result in loss of licensure and the right to practice physical therapy/limited physical therapy in Maryland. Notices of renewal are mailed in March of the year of renewal. All renewals must be completed online by May 16th.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 40 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. Licensees must complete a minimum of 3 CEUs in the areas of laws pertaining to practice, ethics and professional conduct, risk management and a minimum of 3 CE hours in activities designed to enhance competence in the provision of psychological services to culturally diverse populations. Licenses must be renewed biennially. The reporting period for psychologists with license numbers ending with an: Odd digit will be March 31st of odd years; and an even digit or 0 will be March 31st of even numbered years.
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology N/A
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 16 hours of continuing education are due May 30th of each even year.   They accept home-study programs that are approved by the AARC.
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: forty (40) hours of social work continuing education must be completed by October 31, every two (2) years. Three (3) hours focusing on ethics and professional conduct, including boundary issues, or pertaining to the standards of practice and laws governing the profession of social work in Maryland. Twenty (20) hours of home study is permitted. Licensed Social Work Associates renewal thirty (30) hours of social work continuing education. Fifteen (15) hours of home study is permitted.
