Aaron Brzezinski MD

Aaron Brzezinski, MD, was born in Mexico City and attended medical school at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, receiving his degree in medicine in 1981. He performed his postgraduate training in internal medicine at Hospital Espanol in Mexico City. Dr. Brzezinski moved to Toronto, Canada, to continue training with a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology. He performed research for one year with Dr. Nicholas Diamant, and completed a special fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease and performed clinical research under Dr. Kursheed Jeejeebhoy and Dr. Jeffrey Baker at the University of Toronto. Dr. Brzezinski is certified in internal medicine and in Gastroenterology in Canada and the United States, and in 1992 started to work in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Cleveland Clinic as Assistant Staff. In 1994, he became a Staff Gastroenterologist. Through the years, Dr. Brzezinski has been either principal investigator or sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials and has published in peer-reviewed journals and written numerous book chapters. He has lectured extensively within the United States and internationally in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain and Turkey. Dr. Brzezinski actively participates in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. His clinical practice is almost exclusively in inflammatory bowel disease, microscopic colitis and celiac disease. Besides seeing patients in the office, he also performs upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy.
