South Dakota CE for Specialty: Athletic Training 4 CEUS (40 hours) must be completed by every renewal period. Licenses must be renewed every 3 years.
South Dakota CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 12 Contact Hours must be completed annually.
South Dakota CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition 15 continuing education hours are due annually or 75 hours are due every five years.   A South Dakota license may be renewed upon payment of the renewal fee, documentation and the successful completion of at least fifteen hours of continuing education annually or an accumulation of a total of seventy-five hours of continuing education during a five-year period.

CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no South Dakota Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 8 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: There are no Continuing Education requirements for Medicine/ Osteopathic Medicine. 30 Hours must be completed annually by licensed Physician Assistants. Any physician assistant who maintains current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) may document compliance with this requirement by providing proof of current certification by the NCCPA. Licenses must be renewed annually.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: Current license is valid until January 1st at 11:59 pm. Occupational Therapists (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistance (OTA) must complete 12 continuing competency points in a one-year period in professional education activities updating competency in occupational therapy and practice.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 12 hours of continuing education must be earned in the 2 years prior to the expiration date of the license. Home study must be approved by the board. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician No continuing education is required. Registrations expire on October 31st each year.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE Requirements: There is no continuing education requirement.
CE for Specialty: Psychology In South Dakota Law the number of CEU hours has not been specified, but you must complete SOME continuing education.
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology No CE required.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 20 hours of continuing education are due December 31st of each even year.
CE for Specialty: Social Work Renewal: thirty (30) hours of social work contact hours must be completed by the first day of January of the second year succeeding the issuance of the license.
