CE for Specialty: Athletic Training 10 hours of continuing education must be completed annually.
CE for Specialty: Audiology/SLP CE: 30 professional development hours must be completed each 2 year renewal period. Licenses expire on December 31st of even-numbered years. (e.g., December 31st, 2012.) Speech-Language  Pathology  or  Audiology: 30 professional development hours completed during the professional development period. Dual Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology: 30 professional development hours in speech-language pathology and 30 professional development hours in audiology completed during the professional development period. A maximum of 15 professional development hours may be applied to both licenses if the topic is applicable to both types of licenses. Speech-Language Pathology Assistant: 15 professional development hours completed during the professional development period.
CE for Specialty: Dietetics/Nutrition 30 hours of continuing education or a current CDR card are required every two years. Continuing education must be approved by the board or CDR.
CE for Specialty: Emergency Medical Services An initial certification period is from the time the Division certifies an individual until June 30th of the next odd-numbered year. CE for Specialty: Laboratory Technology There are no Continuing Education requirements.
CE for Specialty: Massage Therapy CE: 25 Contact Hours must be completed over a two year renewal period. Courses can be NCBTMB approved home study courses. Maximum of 13 hours home study CE courses permitted.
CE for Specialty: Medicine and Surgery CE: 60 hours of continuing medical education (CME) per two years relevant to the licensee’s current medical practice, or 30 hours of CME if licensed during the second year of the biennium. Any six hours of CME AMA PRA Category I on pain management or end-of-life care are required as well. Licenses must be renewed every two years.
CE for Specialty: Occupational Therapy CE Requirements: License renewals start March 1-May 1st, 2016. Occupational Therapists (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) are required to complete 30 points of continuing education every 2 years. Unless stated otherwise, one point equals one contact hour.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy 15 hours of continuing education must be completed annually, during the period from June 1 through May 31 of each license renewal period. A program shall consist of therapeutics, or pharmacy and drug law or other aspects of health care. 1 hour of continuing education credit must be earned in the area of pharmacy and drug law. 1 hour of continuing education credit must be earned in the area of patient safety or medication error reduction. There is a one-time requirement of 7 hours in pain management (A one-hour pain management course, specific to Oregon, provided by the Pain Management Commission of the Oregon Department of Human Services; and a minimum of six hours of continuing education in pain management.) Home study must be approved by the board. Licenses expire on June 1st. However, when submitting renewal, all forms must be submitted and postmarked by May 31st of the renewal year. CE programs are not required to carry approval of American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). Programs presented by providers approved by the American Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE) are generally accepted, however, the Board reserves the right to determine the number of hours allowed or to disapprove such programs. ACPE-approved courses for Pharmacy Technicians end in the letter “T”. ACPE-approved courses pharmacists (only) end in the letter “P”.  Courses ending in the letter “P” cannot be used to meet pharmacy technician CE requirements.
CE for Specialty: Pharmacy Technician 1 hour of Oregon Pharmacy Law is required annually, except for the first year of licensure.
CE for Specialty: Physical Therapy CE Requirements: PTs and PTAs renewal cycle runs from April 1st of each even numbered year, through March 31st of the next even numbered year. 24 month continuing competence certification period which runs from April 1st of each even numbered year, through March 31st of the next even numbered year. CE: 24 hours of continuing competency for PTs. Effective with the current certification period 04/01/2014 – 03/31/2016, PTA’s now need to have 24 hours of continuing competency in order to renew their license for the licensing period beginning April 1, 2016. PTs must fulfill a one- time only pain management education requirement: seven hours of pain management education, including the completion of a one hour online pain management course sponsored and provided by the Oregon Pain Management Commission, plus an additional six hours of continuing education relative to the evaluation, diagnosis or treatment of pain. PTAs are exempt from the pain management education requirement.
CE for Specialty: Psychology 50 hours of continuing education must be completed every renewal period. 4 CE hours in professional ethics of licensed psychologists. All active and semi-active licensees must complete a minimum of seven hours of continuing education dedicated to the topic of pain management. This is a one time requirement.: (a) One hour must be a course provided by the Oregon Pain Management Commission. (b) The pain management requirement must be reported within twenty-four months of the first Renewal Notice and Affidavit. Licenses must be renewed biennially. The deadline for renewal is December 31st. (Even years for even numbered licenses and odd years for odd numbered licenses.)
CE for Specialty: Radiology Technology 12 CEs or currently registered and in good standing with either the American Registry or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Licensees must comply with all continuing education and continuing competency requirements of the applicable credentialing organization by submitting their annual registration. A license expires biennially on the first day of the birth month of the licensee.
CE for Specialty: Respiratory Therapy 15 hours of continuing education are due biennially.   At least two-thirds of the required continuing education hours shall be related to the clinical practice of respiratory care. If your license expires in 2009 and your current CE reporting period ends in 2010, you will have a one-year extended reporting period to 2011.  Upon renewal of your two-year license in 2011, you will attest to completing 22 CE hours (15 hours for the original CE reporting period ending in 2010 and 7 hours for 2011).
